Ian Francis

Ian is a former world champion snail racer who wasted his fortune in an ill-advised attempt to raise an army of sea monkeys with laser beams attached to their heads. Ian now spends his days sitting on the toilet playing Angry Birds and locking his butler in the walk in fridge. Ian hopes you enjoy the show!

Ian is a veteran of the St. Neots Players after joining the group in 2006. He now has 20 shows under his belt with us, and has gone from playing the third villager on the left in a panto chorus, to a double award winning portrayal of ‘One Round’ in The Ladykillers, through to directing our productions of Black Adder and the NODA award nominated The Vicar of Dibley.

Ian joined the Players after spending many years saying ‘You’ll never get me on that stage’ but, after a few too many beers at an after show party, he found himself signed up to be part of the panto chorus. And the rest, as they say, is history! Now it’s more a case of ‘You’ll never get me off that stage’!

Outside of St Neots Players, Ian has also been involved with The Offord Players playing roles such as Dame Benevolent (Rapunzel 2012), Edmund (A Murder is Announced 2013), and has appeared in three films: Sebastian and Me (Father – 2016), Lionheart (Father – 2017) and The Billionth Interview (The Interviewer – 2018).
