The Patchwork Quilt / Thread o' Scarlet / Save Us From Our Friends

Date: January 1934

Venue: St Neots Parish Rooms

In late 2025, new documents were discovered that may have changed our history.

A small newspaper clipping from February 2nd 1934 revealed that “a new company of amateurs who style themselves ‘The St Neots Players'” made their debut performance on Tuesday 30th January 1934 at the St Neots Church rooms. It alludes to many of the members being involved in St Neots Glee Party – of which we have no other information.

The performances were three one-act plays, The Patchwork Quilt, Thread O’Scarlet, and Save us from our friends. There were also vocal interludes between each play performed by a chorus and some of the performers. There was also a Wednesday performance, and all the proceeds were donated to the local Nursing Association.
